“I LIKE TOXINS IN MY BODY!”... SAID NO ONE. EVER.
Are you looking to remove toxins from your body, your energy and your immunity? If so I want to highlight a simple, effective ritual that will help you say goodbye not just to toxins, but also to cellulite, and dull skin. It’s called ‘dry body brushing’!
Dry brushing is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to get glowing skin, stimulate your lymphatic system (which serves as the circulatory system’s waste removal system) and to flush toxins, especially from the legs, hips and tush. Dry body brushing also stimulates the connective tissue attached to the capillaries sitting under your skin, which improves circulation through the body.
To brush, I like to use a sisal natural fiber body brush or gloves -- a few of my favorite gloves are from Amazon and Anthropologie. Start at the feet and brush your way up your inner and outer legs to your hips, waist, tummy, backs of the arms, chest, back, and shoulders, always moving the brush in the direction of your heart. Avoid brushing your face or other sensitive pink parts, as well as any irritated areas of the body. While you brush, set an intention to release and brush away negative emotions and finish with an affirmation like EVERY LITTLE CELL IN MY BODY IS WELL, or I AM WELL to enhance this clearing experience.
Once you’ve brushed your entire body, move on your foam roller, jump on your rebounder, walk or dance, then take a shower shower and rinse the dead skin away with some hydrotherapy. Alternate between the hottest and coolest temperatures you can tolerate to stimulate blood circulation and boost metabolism.
